On its own, tanha تنها is generally translated as lonely or alone. 


When you break up the syllables, though, you get a different meaning: 

tan تن = body

-ha ها = plural suffix (like -s in English) 

tanha = many bodies. 

Takeaway: you can be lonely even if there are other bodies around.
